Also known affectionately by his patients as Dr. Philip or Dr. V, Dr. Philip Vassilopoulos brings world-class training and a calm, patient-focused approach to periodontal and implant dentistry. With extensive experience in gum disease treatment, soft tissue grafting, and dental implant surgery, he offers specialized care that helps patients regain both oral health and confidence.
Dr. Philip visits Elevated Dentistry regularly to provide patients in Walnut Creek and surrounding areas with the highest level of periodontal care — without the need for outside referrals.
Education & Background
Dr. Philip’s educational journey spans two continents and two dental degrees. He earned his first dental degree (DMD) from the University of Athens in Greece, where he was born and raised. He then moved to the United States to complete advanced specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) — one of the nation’s top programs.
During his time at UAB, he also earned a second dental degree (DDS) and held multiple academic leadership positions. His contributions to education were recognized by the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award.
His international training and academic background bring a unique global perspective to his work — along with a steadfast dedication to evidence-based, results-driven care.
